dont settle for great

While at work a few weeks ago I got a phone call. My friend on the other end of the line was telling me about a salon in my home town that was coming up for sale. I wasn't in the market for salon buying, but when the call came in I decided to inquire.

Its no secret I've thought many times about having my own place.
I called the owner and had many detailed conversations, even went over to the shop twice to look at it.. once with my mom and once with my hubby.


IT WAS GREAT!

It was close to my kids school..which was great!

It was close to my church....which was great!

I'd be living, working, taking my kids to school and going to church all in the same town..
which was great!!

So because everything was great I thought surely this is God's plan.. "this is why no other place had ever worked out" I thought. My mom was on board and even offered to dish out a nice chunk of change to help out! My husband was on board and supportive. A few good friends who knew the details said "it all sounds good".. "go for it!" The place had many many pro's and the lady selling was an honest person who was easy to talk to.. everything was falling into place so easy it was almost scary.

I prayed and prayed and prayed some more.. I asked God as I always do to close the door if He didn't have this for me. He never closed the door.. but, He did tell me with the door wide open to not walk in.

So why after 3 days of smooth sailing and doors opening did I hear God say "No"??!?

simple.

He told me... "I want to give you more than "a great" plan. I want to give you the best plan."

Whoa!!  Yep, that's what He said. I love that it was a great thing and my daddy said.... this is great, yes... but, I have more for you!

Some people would be sad that the great plan didn't work out..... but, not me! I am waiting with great excitement and anticipation for my sweet daddy to show up with the BEST plan.

Next time a great thing falls through.. just remember... God has a Best plan around the corner! Don't find yourself mumbling.. open your mouth and Praise Him for whats ahead!

Father- We come to you today expecting. Lord, we trust you. Help us to be patient while waiting for you. Help us father to not be self promoting. Make us people who thirst for your perfect will in our lives more than our own personal agenda's. Lord we find rest in knowing you have it under control.. that you alone God hold the keys to unlock the best plan in our lives. In the precious most high name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
